Word completion games have been a popular source of entertainment as well as learning platform, especially being popularly advised for children for healthy development of their vocabulary and linguistic skills. This has been quiet a famous game which found its way in the big television game shows that awarded monetary rewards to the winners attracting lakhs of viewers and TRP. With the advancement in the usage and availability of computers as the prime source of entertainment, a number of games have been developed for playing on PC. One such game is Guess The Phrase (Linux) v.1.21 by Kristanix Games which is especially designed for playing on Linux OS enabled computers.
The game opens with an attractively laid out objects and grid which shows the required alphabets for the phrase completion. In the starting levels you will find smaller grids and lesser number of letters but as the player proceeds through the letters, the grid becomes larger and it becomes more difficult and challenging for the player to seek out the phrase. The grid contains various alphabets where you have to find appropriate combination of the alphabets for completing the phrase. As you click on the letters, they get entered into the word field from which it can be submitted towards the required phrase. While playing the game, you have to be careful of all the errors in entering the letters as you have limited number of trials for each wrong click. The game has over thousand phrases for you to solve across sixteen different categories which makes the game quiet comprehensive.
Overall, Guess The Phrase (Linux) v.1.21 is a full fledged game for building your vocabulary and recognition skills, and can be a very good puzzle for young children who will feel entertained while developing their skills on language. Hence it receives a score of three rating points on the scale of five.
